Circuit Court Hearings for Grand Lake and Lake Esau Scheduled for September 22
The Presque Isle County Circuit Court will review the petitions to amend the lake level orders for Grand Lake and Lake Esau on September 22, 2025. Click the buttons below for more information on each hearing. Testimony registration form can be found by clicking the buttons below.
Prior to the hearings, the Presque Isle Drain Commissioner will hold a public informational meeting on August 15, 2025. The meeting will provide property owners with additional information about the lake levels project and an opportunity to ask questions.
Lake Esau
Grand Lake
Grand Lake has a legal lake level of 594 feet above mean sea level. The Grand Lake - Lake level Level Control Structure, which is located on the Grand Lake Outlet, runs to Lake Huron. This structure helps maintain the legal lake level.
Lake Esau
Lake Esau has a legal lake level of 597 feet above mean sea level. There is no lake level control structure or dam on the lake. A nearby quarry pumps water to the lake to help it maintain its legal lake level.
